Encoder & Decoder

Base64, URL, hex, binary and JSON escaping, both ways.

Standard alphabet, +/ and = padding.

Decoding is strict: an input outside the alphabet is an error, never a silently shortened string.

Every codec here is reversible, except escaping for a language context: see Shell / SQL below.

Nothing yet: paste something and press the button.

What to watch for.

base64 and base32 carry bytes, not characters: anything above U+00FF becomes one code unit per UTF-8 byte, and decoding gives those bytes back without any character-set guess. Missing padding is restored, but a length that leaves one character over is always a mistake and is refused.
